Kathy Havers recognised for her work with KSF

Kindred Spirits Foundation Director, Kathy Havers has taken out the Financial Planning Association of Australia’s 2016 Future2 community service award for the second time.

Kathy was presented with the award at the annual Future2 Gala Dinner for her contributions to the community throughout the year, improving the circumstances of socially excluded and financially disadvantaged Australians.  Kathy is a director of Kindred Spirits Foundation, and it is in this volunteer role, that she assists with the financial management of projects designed to empower people in communities within Australia.

In commending Havers, FPA chief executive Dante De Gori said she is a well-deserved recipient.

“In the not-for-profit world, the objectives are the same; improving the prospects for well-being of all people and all communities, every day. I am honoured to receive such an award, as the people I’ve met and the projects I have had the privilege to be a part of, and to impact, are by far my greatest personal achievements and an amazing personal reward already,” she said.

The FPA also announced that the Future2 Foundation has awarded over $147,000 in grants in 2016 to not-for-profit organisations with programs for socially and financially disadvantaged young Australians – almost a 30% increased on last year.
